Cold Laser Therapy
When the body has an injury the cells are damaged and fail to function within normal parameters. Low level lasers penetrate deeply into the skin and work by restoring this abnormal cellular function. The energy from the laser stimulates the mitochondria in the cells to produce more ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate), which is the form of energy that all cells use. Once the cells have this energy, they can then do any processes that they need to, which include proper healing. Physiologic effects include improved metabolism, circulation, and tissue healing.
The Erchonia cold laser device has gained FDA approval and is being used widely in the NFL and by the USPS tour de France pro cycling team.
